Crownings is a creative response to the former Royal Women’s Hospital in Carlton. It is a community collaboration led by artists Larissa Linnell and Eva Abbinga. The project responds to the history of the former Royal Women’s Hospital site and reflects on the historic use of the site and the many changes in women’s health and maternal care in the 20th century. Over 100 volunteers from across Victoria contributed knitted patches that have been tea dyed to make the work.
